The electric automotive company led by a former executive of Alibaba, He Xiaopeng, said on Thursday that it will be expanding further into a couple of European markets. Until now Norway has been the only overseas market for Xpeng, which is China’s seventh biggest electric automaker. It has been selling its vehicles in the Norway market since late 2020.
According to a Reuters report, Xpeng stated that it will open a store in Stockholm this week and partner with dealer Bilia, which is one of Europe’s largest car dealers. The dealer has a leading position in sales and services of passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles.
For the Netherlands market, it has reached an agreement with Swiss auto distributor Emil Frey to develop its sales network and manage stores there in the Dutch market. Also, it expects to open a store there next month.
The company has the P7 and P5 sedans along with G3 and G9 SUV in its portfolio. Also, it is a leading player in developing smart-car technologies including powertrain and autonomous driving.
