According to a press release from Smart, the name of its first model of new generation all-electric vehicle will be all-new Smart #1. Smart has undergone changes in its brand, product and business model to enter a new era of development. Now, the all-electric premium auto technology brand looks forward to expanding its product lineup.
All-new Smart #1 completed a series of aerodynamic and winter tests recently in China. The model measured a drag coefficient of just 0.29 in aerodynamic tests at the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, Chongqing. For the cold winter tests, the model performed excellently with resistance to cold in temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius, in the far north of China. Also, the model underwent complex snow and ice road testing, similar to conditions like daily city driving in winters, as per the report.
The company plans to launch the all-new Smart #1 later this year.
